It is always humbling and awe-inspiring to reflect on how the Lord has provided for us...and me personally, over the years. I am in no way worthy of the grace and forgiveness He bestows upon me time and time again and yet ... He does. He always does.
We always get there early. The calm before the storm. We are going to miss our CC family here for sure.
I'm terrible about shooting in the winter. Terrible. I realized the other day that, besides the video I shot, I have not picked up my camera for personal stuff at all this month. Oh, I had it on the to-do list but it kept getting pushed by other things. I always have big photography plans at the beginning of the year and they almost never happen.
So here are all four of my children. In the doorway. Under strong protest from everyone except Kenny. She still loves doing the photographer-kid thing. And no, Austin wouldn't look at the camera. Yay for checking off boxes!
We are immensely blessed and it is never more evident than at Christmastime.
Happy birthday sweet girl.
The Middle Tennessee/Kentucky region has this whole fall pumpkin patch thing down. We were invited to visit a new one tonight with our dear friends. It was a blast with live bluegrass music, animals and a bonfire. We also did a nighttime hay ride and picked pumpkins by lantern light. We finished the night off with some warm apple cider. Yum!
We made our yearly pilgrimage to Christian Way Farm again. We just love this place. Austin was elated to discover a train made of mow-mows. It was like a dream for him.
You are not a little girl anymore. You are strong and opinionated, you are beautiful. God has shaped and changed you so much this year and it is exciting to watch. Your mind works in amazing ways and your passions are so intense they are almost blinding.
Cling to the Lord, precious girl. When things seem insurmountable or the tremendous tide of emotions that stir inside of you threaten to spill over, HE is the only one who can help you.
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
You are growing up so fast. You are getting taller. You speak new phrases and sentences every day. You are emotional and a problem solver. You are fascinated with anything mechanical, with a special place for planes, helicopters and "trucks of trash." I love you so much, my little man. Some day you are going to be a powerful man of God. I see evidence of your heart every day the way you are empathetic of your sisters when they are hurt or even "Bear" on your favorite show.
My prayer for you is that your strength and personality be used for amazing things that glorify the Lord. That you will grow into a man of honor. Courageous and leading. Fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves. Loving and faithful, walking with the Lord.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
What if I Fall? Oh, but my darling what if you fly?
The experiences that are memorable are the ones that happen when you don't expect them. That random afternoon where the moment takes you completely by surprise and you are just overwhelmed with gratitude. I am reminded of the blessing of these people God has given me to travel life with and how I am profoundly thankful. I just try and breathe it all in.
This was supposed to be a 10 on 10 except it's not the tenth. Ooops. Here is our day starting with Austin up at o'dark thirty and piano lessons to tub time.
It always feels good to go home.
I haven't had a chance to cull and edit the massive amount of images from this summer, save this one. He's such a ham.
